United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees
AGENDA: Addressing the problem of prolonged displacement of refugees and aiming at a sustainable humanitarian solution
Since the inception of The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Committee, its main objective has been to support and assist refugees and internally displaced people. The main activities include protection of refugees’ and IDP’s rights, emergency help through humanitarian action and durable assistance by supporting voluntary repatriation, local integration and resettlement to a third country. It not only engages in work directly in the field, but also puts a major focus on raising public awareness about the on-going refugee crisis situations and the need for them to find a new home. UNHCR helps broaden the horizon of understanding of the issues and intricacies that face each region.
